Rossiter Stretching at Today Pilates: Unlock Better, Freer Movement
If tightness, stiffness, or recurring tension keeps slowing you down, Rossiter stretching offers a powerful, hands-on way to increase mobility and regain ease in your daily movement.
This work isn’t about being “gentle” — it’s about being effective. Much like deep tissue massage, it can be intense at times, but the results speak for themselves.
At Today Pilates, Rossiter stretching is always one-on-one, tailored, and delivered by instructors who understand how movement patterns shape how you feel. Together, we work to release tight fascia, restore natural elasticity, and create space for better, healthier motion.
Schedule your first session today and discover why clients call it “life-changing relief.”

What Is Rossiter Stretching?
Rossiter stretching is a two-person, pin-and-stretch technique developed by Richard Rossiter to quickly reduce pain, increase mobility, and prevent recurring limitations. It combines connective-tissue work, soft-tissue techniques, and active client participation — you move while we apply firm pressure to anchor the tissue.
Every session is 30 minutes, always 1:1, and fully guided. You control the intensity; we provide the technique.
The Benefits of Rossiter Stretching
Imagine waking up without that familiar stiffness, bending to tie your shoes effortlessly, or finally enjoying a pain-free hike. Rossiter stretching is designed for people who want to feel more mobile, move with more ease, and stay ahead of recurring tightness. Here’s why it works:
01
Rapid Pain Relief
By addressing the fascia directly, Rossiter stretching helps reduce discomfort from repetitive stress, posture habits, or old movement patterns — often in just a few sessions.
02
Improved Mobility & Function
Releasing tight connective tissue allows you to bend, lift, rotate, and move with greater freedom and strength.
03
Prevention Over Reaction
Rossiter stretching doesn’t just address the symptom; it helps prevent the pattern from returning. It’s ideal for active people or anyone who sits, stands, or repeats the same motions daily.
04
Supports Active Lifestyles
Clients often report feeling lighter, taller, and more capable — ready to return to exercise, work, or life with renewed confidence.
One client shared...
“If I am injured, Robert and Kimberly can perform Rossiter stretching technique on me to assist in recovery.” (Debbi D.) It’s not just relief; it’s a step toward a more vibrant you.
How Rossiter Stretching Complements Your Pilates Journey
Rossiter stretching and Pilates work beautifully together. Rossiter helps release the tight fascia that restricts movement; Pilates teaches your body how to use that new mobility with strength and precision.
While Pilates builds core strength and precision through controlled exercises, Rossiter acts as the “unlock” that prepares your body for deeper, more effective movement.
For example, if you’re easing into private Pilates lessons, a Rossiter session beforehand can melt away tightness, allowing you to focus on technique without distraction. Or, pair it with small group Pilates classes (max 3 clients) for amplified results—imagine sharing the experience with a friend while both of you gain mobility.
Many clients add Rossiter stretching before private lessons or small group sessions to improve alignment, reduce distraction from tightness, and deepen their Pilates work.
You can also upgrade a private Pilates lesson to include a Rossiter stretching workout for $20, book a 30-minute individual session for $50, or schedule Rossiter stretching periodically to maintain mobility and prevent setbacks.

We often tell our clients . . .
“Combine Rossiter with our private Pilates lessons for faster recovery and improved mobility.” It’s this personalized integration that helps you progress steadily, whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned mover.

What to Expect in Your First Rossiter Session
Your session begins with a brief conversation about your goals and where you’re feeling tight or restricted. Then we guide you through a series of precise stretches while applying firm pressure to anchor the tissue.
Here’s what you can expect:
-
Some brief discomfort (similar to deep tissue work)
-
Clear guidance every step of the way
-
Active participation — you help create the stretch
-
A noticeable difference in how you move afterward
Wear comfortable clothing and bring awareness to where your body feels restricted. We’ll take it from there.

Frequently Asked Questions
We’ve gathered the most common questions from our Wichita community to help you feel confident and excited about trying Rossiter stretching.
What is the Rossiter technique?
The Rossiter technique is a hands-on, two-person method that pinpoints and releases fascial restrictions using precise stretches. It’s like giving your connective tissues a “reset button” for pain-free function — developed by Richard Rossiter to address issues traditional therapies often miss.
Is Rossiter Stretching painful?
It can feel intense in short bursts — similar to deep tissue massage — but you always control the level of pressure and intensity. Think of it as the same intensity as a deep tissue massage.
How to prepare for a Rossiter Stretching session?
Come as you are! Hydrate well, wear Pilates clothing, and note any sensitive areas. Eat lightly beforehand to stay energized. We’ll handle the rest— no prior experience needed.
How is Rossiter Stretching different from massage?
Massage works on the muscles. Rossiter stretching works on the fascia — the connective tissue responsible for many mobility restrictions. It’s an active, collaborative technique designed for longer-lasting change.
